Revisiting the barnacle
Last week was pretty dull, but hopefully things are looking up.
Everyone at work has been sick during the past month.
I missed a good sunset walk on my day off, the 29th, because I felt like napping.
I'm doing everything I can to not catch whatever it is.
To make things worse, we heard our former pastor was accused of abusing a child 25 years ago.
We don't know much more about it, than that.
Everyone's mood has been gloomy and tense.
After work this Sunday, I went to the pier.
The forecast seemed to suggest that the weather would be wild and exciting.
It was not exciting. It was cold and gray.
I didn't stay long, just walked to the end of the pier to get my exercise.
Today, after work, I noticed the days are getting longer.
I was motivated to work on a project from a few weeks ago.
I had saved these succulents from being thrown out by the gardener at the office.
They ended up being just the right plant, to put into my barnacle-planter.
This is the barnacle, 2 weeks ago. I had glued these fake succulents to it:
For substrate, I stuffed the holes with moss:
The plan is that the moss will hold the stems in place, and keep moist:
Here's another view.
Not sure if the plants will live or just rot, but at least it's finished!
Love all your photos, Julie. I am a succulent fan too.
