I painted a little bit

This weekend I didn't do anything special.

I tried contacting the new mechanic, to look at the Green Car, but he was busy with emergencies, both Thursday and Friday. It's just like old times!

(I was supposed to call today, Monday, but I decided to sleep in.)

The trees are still purple.

I have to wash the cars twice a week, due to the flower sap, but it's good exercise.

I didn't go to the beach this weekend, but I did some interesting crafts.

I was inspired by the Art Deco designs on this can of Monster energy drink:

The soda wasn't very tasty, but it was sugar-free and caffinated.

I cut the can up into pieces.

I poked holes and assembled it into these earrings:

I was lazy, and didn't do much gardening this weekend.

I picked these roses from my garden.

Part of the reason I'm always planting flowers is because I like to draw them.

But I haven't done any drawing or painting, almost all year!

(except for some doodles in my journal)

I was determined to draw and paint these.

Here I started a sketch:

I was afraid I had forgotten how to draw, but it wasn't too bad.

I added a little water to blend the background (watercolor pencils)

I ought to just stick to the watercolor pencils.

My favorite thing to do is add highlighter to the flowers.

I feel like regular paints don't capture the bright colors of the flower, like the highlighter does.

I added other markers, and just doodled, until I felt like I was done.

It didn't turn out very neat, but it was satisfying to draw and paint again.
