I knew this would come in "handy" some day

This week went by very fast.

At the church, our bulletin board full of upcoming funerals is finally looking back to normal:

This week:

Although I have many, many things to be thankful for, (like getting my first Covid vaccine,)

I am still full of anxiety.

I went to a different Hobby Lobby again this week.

I found another angel just like the one I got a couple weeks ago:

This one is missing both hands! I had to bring it home.

The cashier said the next time I came to the store, to show her how I fixed it!

I feel like these angels kind of represent the way I feel.

I feel like I'm not creating enough.

I thought a long while about how to fix these statues.

One idea was making hands from clay.

I even had this mold, (which I bought 20 years ago and never used)

But these are wizened, gnomish features, not good for my angel.

I had a better idea, which was using the hands from a thrifted doll, or something.

I have some old dolls around, but they're antique.

I'm still too scared to go to a thrift store, but I do have a lot of "or somethings:"

I'm not going to try to explain why I have all these action figures...

I have an even bigger box full of dinosaurs!

(I did even consider using a dinosaur as a donor, but luckily, they all have tiny front claws.)

But I narrowed down my choices to this wrestling figure:

I used my handy Dremel tool to slice off the arms:

These hands have magnets in them, apparently part of how they were used in play:

I remembered hearing how Japanese people repair broken things, such as china, using gold.

It's called "kintsugi."

I probably bought this gold colored adhesive for that purpose.

This was another craft supply I bought long ago, and never used. It was still good, though.

The results were kind of messy:

I wasn't completely satisfied.

Tomorrow, I'll see if the adhesive worked, and maybe then I'll be happier about it.
